Busy Start to the New Year

Hi, everyone

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good holiday season.

It’s January, and the busy season for me carried over from last year. In fact, it might be even busier now than before :-)

Just as a reminder, the end-of-year sale is still on for a few days. If you would like to purchase some prints and get a 20% off, use YEAREND20 code at check-out.

Early Bird price is available for the Lightroom editing class for another week.

Now, that out of the way, for some updates on upcoming events.

My work will appear in several upcoming exhibits that would start in January.

Autumn Impressions (to appear in the New Beginnings exhibit at the Plymouth Center for the Arts)

New Beginnings exhibit starts today, January 8th, and will run through February 16th at the Plymouth Center for the Arts. The opening reception is tomorrow, January 9th 6-8pm and is free to the public. Two of my pieces will appear in the exhibit.

I have recently joined the Plymouth Center for the Arts as a member. More great exhibits at the center to follow throughout the year.

One of my pieces will appear in the Color, Color, Color exhibit at the Arts League of Lowell, running January 10th-March 2nd.

This is the first time I participate in an exhibit at the Arts League. Hopefully, not the last. The opening reception for the exhibit is January 18th 3-5pm.

Dreamland (to appear in the Color, Color, Color exhibit at the Arts League of Lowell)

Wild Garlic Galore (to appear in the Impact of Color exhibit at the Cape Cod Art Center)

This is my second year as a member of the wonderful Cape Cod Art Center. I will start the year at the center on January 20th with two pieces in the Impact of Color exhibit, running through February 14th. The reception for the exhibit is on January 24th 5-7pm. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the reception (more on it below), but do come to check out the exhibit. The Art Center is always wonderful.

The annual Small Stones Festival of the Arts runs January 25th-February 2nd. This is a wonderful show in a beautiful location in Grafton, MA. It is co-sponsored by the Worcester County Camera Club of which I am a member. The opening reception for the festival is on January 25th with the awards ceremony scheduled for 2pm. The festival also offers additional programming such as artist and juror talks. Check them out!

As is the case with the Cape Cod exhibit, I will not be able to attend the opening reception due to other commitments, but two of my photographs will appear in the main section of the exhibit. An additional piece will be in the Worcester County Camera Club section. This is my third year participating in the festival. It offers a great selection of high level photography and painting works. Do check it out!

Fire and Ice (to appear in the Small Stones Festival of the Arts main exhibit)

Frozen Loneliness (to appear in the Worcester Country Camera Club section of the Small Stones Festival of the Arts)

Finally, the reason I will not be able to attend some of the receptions for these wonderful exhibits is that I am heading for a winter photography workshop in Slovenia on January 19th. I had an amazing time during the trip in Fall of 2023, and can’t wait to revisit some of the locations with the Winter atmosphere and scenery (fingers crossed for some snow). I will share an update once I am back from the trip.

In the meantime, have a great year and come enjoy these wonderful shows if you have time.

Dimitry
